Adrienne Parkmond – President

As Executive Vice President of Operations for the WorkPlace, Inc., Ms. Parkmond is responsible for all program operations at the WorkPlace, Inc. and teaches legal specialty courses at Naugatuck Valley Community College and Teikyo Post University.

She holds a B.S. in Finance from Villanova University and a Juris Doctorate from Quinnipiac University. In addition to serving on the Board of Trustees for Girls Inc. of Western Connecticut where she has also served as President and Chair, Ms. Parkmond is Chairperson of the National Congress of Black Women, President of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc., Treasurer of CWEALF (Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund), and is a member of a professional women’s organization, the Links, Inc. Ms. Parkmond ’s contributions to the girls at Girls Inc. were recognized when she was awarded the Girls Inc. of SWCT’s 2010 Miriam N. Camp Woman of the Year award.

Karen Diebolt – Vice President

Karen Diebolt holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arizona School of Law. She is a criminal attorney and has been practicing law for over 25 years.

Ms. Diebolt is a retired Assistant State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Waterbury, and worked as a domestic violence prosecutor. She serves as ambassador for our Prevention programs and works tirelessly as an advocate for education as a catalyst for prevention and elimination of abuse.

Valita Luckett – Treasurer

Valita is a retiree of SNET/SBC Telecommunications Company (now AT&T).  Her 23 years of corporate expertise include strategic planning and analysis, marketing, and project management at the director/subsidiary vice president levels. She and her husband, Walter E. Luckett, Jr., are partners in Luckett & Luckett Associates, a consulting venture. Additionally, she is Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer of The Walter E. Luckett Jr. Foundation, Inc. whose mission focuses on youth training and development.

Throughout her corporate tenure, Mrs. Luckett was involved in numerous youth-oriented initiatives, including serving as a Junior Achievement Project Business Coordinator for ten years; an Efficacy-certified trainer, which is a youth development program; and an Inroads business internship program mentor.  Through The Justice Education Center Inc., Luckett & Luckett created and launched the ECHO Perfect 10 Pre-Employment Program, a three-tiered program (training, job shadowing, and internship) for high school and college students designed to prepare them for successful employment and careers.

Mrs. Luckett has her MBA in finance from the University of New Haven and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, a business honors society.

Karen Brown

Karen is a registered nurse at Saint Mary’s Hospital, here in Waterbury.  She has been actively involved in growing our annual events including our Golf Fore Our Girls Golf Tournament.

An avid golfer and staunch supporter of girls’ futures, Karen works tirelessly to bring awareness to the issues girls face and find ways to encourage funders to support the programs at Girls Inc. that inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Charles E. Green, Jr. Esq.

Attorney Green is a Public Defender for the State of Connecticut, Waterbury and holds a Juris Doctor from Southern New England School of Law. He has served in various capacities in the legal arena in CT, NY and Massachusetts. With a vast portfolio of experience, Attorney Green is known for his steadfast commitment to the law and defending the rights of our citizens.

Attorney Green has volunteered in various capacities for children including scouts, football coach, Lecturer at Granville Academy and an active member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star. His support of our mission extends beyond his time on the Board as he is an outspoken advocate of the rights of girls.

Sandy Lombardi

As Senior Human Resource Consultant, Sandy is responsible for Nurse Recruitment and Retention for Waterbury Hospital. She earned her RN from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, her BS in Business Management from Post University and her MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Sandy knows first-hand the opportunities that exist for young girls and works hard to empower them to reach their goals.

Sandy has been instrumental in guiding our programming around Job Readiness, Career Planning and development. She leads our efforts in our recruitment and retention of team members to support our program growth.

Louise McMinn

As a long-time Middle School STEM Teacher with the Stamford Public Schools, Louise knows firsthand, the effects of encouraging young girls in the STEM fields. Recognized for her efforts and creativity with education, Louise is hands-on for our girls and her students. Working with such key partners as NASA, Louise is instrumental in leading our efforts around building and growing our STEM programming.

With a keen focus and presence in Fairfield County, Louise is instrumental in recruiting girls for our programs and inspiring their futures. She has led the charge to develop creative, hands-on programming and can be found most days, if not in the classroom, at summer camps, STEMFEST’s or delivering amazingly interesting programs!
